French PSA Peugeot Citroen Group 1, located in eastern France Teli Mei start a new three-cylinder gasoline engine factory production line.

     PSA Peugeot Citroen Group issued a statement that the small size of this new economic engine than conventional HDi diesel engine power is more powerful, increasing engine efficiency while reducing emissions. Compared with the current four-cylinder engine, the new three cylinder engine power up to 68-82 horsepower, carbon emissions will be reduced by 25%, average fuel consumption will decrease 1.5 liters per hundred kilometers.

     The communique also said the small size of this new economic engine in advance to all the factory in France, estimated annual output of 64 million units, the first engine will launch the first quarter of 2012, the configuration in the Peugeot 208 car models, then the engine will produce in Latin America and China, directly facing the local market.

     Insiders said that from the reduced emissions and energy considerations, the world's major automotive manufacturers increased investment in three-cylinder car engine, small engine will be more economical by the market.
